Barneys New York Designer Sale
Luxe finds abound at the Barneys New York designer sale, which is packed with fab clothes, bags, shoes (hello, Louboutins!) and beauty products for up to 40% off their retail prices. I don’t know about you, but the prospect of scoring great deals always pulls me right in. The bag sale isn’t huge, but there are still a few great choices in the mix. Among the ones that caught my attention:
Marc Jacobs’ Memphis Robert Lexie Tote combines unexpected shades of purple and metallic green on otherwise basic, very simple black leather. Roomy, chic and nicely ingratiated into most wardrobes, it’s perfect for making the work-to-play transition and is a little less wacky than some other MJ purses, so it promises to wear well for years to come. Retailing for $1995, it’s on sale for $1199.
I’ve loved the Prada Stones Clutch for ages, so the fact that it’s now on sale is great news for me (but still pretty sad for my wallet). It’s the ultimate party-friendly purse, perfect for carrying everywhere from holiday shindigs to weddings. The Swarovski stones are gorgeous against the rich satin. Retailing for $1295, it’s on sale for $779.
Found: The perfect everyday black tote, courtesy of Givenchy. The Sacca Couture Padded Stitch Sac will go everywhere with ease, whether it’s a stuffy meeting or a let-loose lunch in the middle of the day. Roomy and beautifully constructed, it features adjustable straps and a magnetic closure. Retailing for $1875, it’s on sale for $1129.
Is there anything more irresistible than a sleek, sexy evening bag? Check out the Lanvin Teacher Quilted Pouchette, which doesn’t sound even remotely as alluring as it looks. Subtle texture lends it a little edge over other the rest, but what I love most is the detachable gold chain strap, which lends it a whole new look. Retailing for $2270, it’s on sale for $1359.
