Let the colors of Summer shine!
Summer is officially here (June 21) and that means its time to turn the heat up! White bags and wicker purses, beach totes and colorful clutches – come on down and let’s have some fun. Summer is a great time to really let go and enjoy the handbags you won’t get to use again until next year. Pastels are great for spring but summer is the time to bring out the bold jewel-colored bags and totes that can go from a day at the beach to a late night party. If you’re an art lover you’re going to definitely want the Art Collage Tote by Vans. This colorful canvas bag is reminiscent of Peter Max paintings and pop art album covers. The colorful floral lining keeps it perky and if you’re not a fan of turquoise this bag also comes in coral and a light yellow. Reasonably priced, you can order this bag online at Nordstrom.com for just $68.
Any season is a great time to carry a Kate Spade bag and you gotta love her Big Apple Canvas Bon Shopper. This tote is perfect for those of us who can’t make up our mind – each tote has a different color on front and back. The simple bag has a solid canvas background with the Kate Spade New York name wrapped around from front to back. Choose from gold/silver, basil/turquoise and apple blossom/tangerine. Twice the purse, Zappos even has them on sale right now. Originally $175, you can get yours for 10%-15% off at this writing.
If multi-color purses are your style you should check out Tory Burch’s Small Sail Tote. The nylon and canvas bag comes in orange accented by fuchsia or navy with turquoise accents. It has a zippered top as well as two zippered pockets inside. It’s a great bag that can take a heavy day of shopping or a hot day at the beach. This Sail tote is on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue – originally $235, you can get it now for $163.99.
And last but not least, every good shopper always has a satellite purse that she can reach into her big girl purse, grab, and go. Coach’s Poppy Op Art Wristlet is adorable, portable and under $50. Available in a pale blue fabric offset with the Coach logo in a darker blue, this porta-purse has a silver embellished panel that gives it just the right amount of substance. Available at Nordstrom for $48.
